Testimony of Marty Rich
Like many others, my parents went to church nearly every Sunday, I always came away with the feeling that there was more to it, that just being good and going to church wasn’t enough, yet everything seemed over done, you must do things this way or that. It wasn’t until later in life that I really became aware that to be SAVED doesn’t have to be complicated. It doesn’t have to be this overwhelming task of impossibilities, because we can never live up to Gods standards. It is quite simple though, the question was posed indirectly, but right thru to me in a tent meeting”… Do you believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross and was raised in 3 days for your sins???……I knew this from childhood. As I pondered this question for a little, yea I had to think about it. I knew that Christ died on the cross, not as a cruel fate of mankind but as a fulfillment of Gods prophecy, I KNEW this to be true!! The Good and Gracious Lord allowed me to understand & believe that Christ died for me as part of the Ungodly, as stated in Rom 5:6 “For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly”. Then with that belief that Christ died for me….a poor unworthy
sinner, I became ….saved. Acts 2:21 says
it well, ”And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on
the name of the Lord shall be saved”.
