As an EMT, serving the community of Dunkerton, we are constantly being trained for the “what ifs”; such as what if there’s a tornado or flood; what if there’s a pandemic flu outbreak; or what if there’s a terrorist attack.
Today, I want to write about an event that is really going to happen, and it could be today, even before you finish reading this newsletter. The Lord Jesus is coming back to take all who are saved home to be with Him in heaven. I do not know when, but I know it will happen. John 14: 2-3 says, “In My Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto Myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”
Are you ready? Have you accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior, believing that He died on the cross of Calvary for your sins? The penalty for your sins was laid on Him at the cross; there is nothing you can do to save yourself. Only rest and rely on the fact that He suffered and died for you.
“The Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God….Then we which are alive and remain…shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air….and so shall we ever be with the Lord” 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17.
Many people have tried to figure out when the Lord is coming back. Only God knows. He is waiting for the last one who will be saved, and then He will tell the Lord Jesus that it is time to come. “Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of Man cometh” Matthew 25:13.
Do not wait any longer! “Today if ye will hear His voice, harden not your hearts” Hebrews 3:15. “Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation” 2 Corinthians 6:2. Are you prepared? Are you ready if the Lord Jesus comes today?
